The “siteless” site is myth.
Our process requires knowledge of site - further it requires knowledge of adjacencies and elements beyond the site. Critical are the ideas of placement and displacement.
It is our contention that the shift between urban and rural conditions is mediated principally by the framed landscape not the architecture. The urban condition demands privacy and a moment of release within the confines of the city, whilst the rural condition requires the referential scale of the captured landscape to temper the often vast and scaleless environment.
